I am Dhilanka Udukalage, a Ph.D. student in bioinorganic chemistry at the University of Alabama, working under the guidance of Dr. Gayan Wijeratne. I hold dual master’s degrees: an M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Colombo and an M.Sc. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Alabama. My research focuses on bioinspired model chemistry, particularly spectroscopic characterization, reaction mechanisms, and the function of metal centers in heme enzymes.
