Dr. Lijuan Li received her Ph.D. (with distinction) in Organometallic Chemistry from McMaster University in 1992. In 1993, she moved to Ottawa to take up a Research Associateship at the Steacie Institute for Molecular Sciences at the National Research Council of Canada. Dr. Li joined the Department of Chemistry at McMaster University as an Assistant Professor in 1995. She then moved to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) in 1998. Dr. Li received early tenure and early promotion to Associate Professor in 2021, followed by an early promotion to Full Professor in 2005. Dr. Li’s research focuses on bioinorganic chemistry and materials with applications in wastewater treatment and environmental pollution prevention. Since 2021, Dr. Li has served as the Department Chair. Dr. Li currently serves as an Editorial Board Member for Aggregate, a science journal published by Wiley.
