I'm a post-doc who loves metalloenzyme biochemistry! I currently work for the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center at Michigan State University (MSU) in the lab of Professor Eric Hegg. My post-doctoral research is focused on understanding the isotopic signatures (and underlying catalytic mechanisms) of metalloenzymes that produce or consume nitrous oxide, a key nitrogen cycle intermediate and potent greenhouse gas. Prior to joining the nitrous oxide project, I received my PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from MSU (also under the direction of Prof. Eric Hegg), where I studied biosynthesis of heme A, a critical cofactor in aerobic respiration.
